If you have just recently decided to give a raw food diet
congratulations! Raw foods contain many more vitamins and nutrients
that are not lost in the process of cooking. Therefore while eating less
food, you are actually gaining in nutrition. However, newcomers, and
experts alike can often find themselves in a slump when it comes to
creating a meal plan. Creating a meal plan that appeals to your tastes
while being simple enough to follow day after day is not as hard as you
may have been lead to believe. By following a few simple guidelines, you
can make your diet very enjoyable and easy.

When starting a raw
food diet, many people feel that there are not very many options when
deciding what to prepare for meals. If you have eaten cooked foods your
whole life it can be difficult to see that there is actually a wide
range of uncooked foods. There are many different types of fruits,
vegetables, and grains. When you begin to see past the supposed
limitations, you will find that the possibilities are in fact endless.

When putting together a raw diet plan it's important to make a lists of
the fruits and vegetables you already enjoy. Make a list of sweet,
non-sweet and fatty fruits that you are already familiar with, and make
it a point to try at least one new fruit a week. Make another list of
leafy greens such as lettuce and spinach, also try a different green
each week. Also make a list of your favorite nuts and grains, while
trying at least one new type each week. I have made it a point that you
should continually try new foods because this will go a long way in
keeping you from getting bored with your diet.

Now that you have
lists of your favorite raw foods, you can begin to experiment with
different recipes throughout the week. Make it a habit to plan your
meals at the beginning of each week so you can make an accurate list of
what you need to buy. Also keep in mind what produce is in season so you
can eat the freshest and most nutritious foods.

When making a
raw meal food plan, there are a few staple dishes that are easy to make.
Smoothies are good for any meal of the day, and are especially useful
if you have a busy schedule. Salads are also a quick way to get a good
mix of flavors, while being simple to make. There are tons of raw diet
friendly recipes out there that you should experiment with when you are
in the mood for something different.

I hope that you now see
that eating a raw diet is not restricting at all. It simply requires a
small change in your mindset. By taking a little time to make a raw diet
plan you will be surpriesed at how easy it is to stay with the diet.
With a little bit of creativity, your diet will be full of interesting
flavors. Remember to keep exploring new foods and recipes, and have fun
enjoying your new healthy lifestlye! To learn more about the benefits of alkalinity and of raw food diets, visit http://www.alkalinebenefits.org/
